When we booked almost 2 months ago, we were a bit worried. The weather was our main concern. How ever mother nature was kind to us, even with one rainy, thunder night was a great experience. The cottage is great. We also had a great day at the Kirkfield festival on Sept 1. To see so many old vintage cars at one time was AMAZING!!, what a way to end our holidays.

Thanks for providing a great living environment for our playful three children. They enjoyed the play area, paddle boat rides, canoe trips to the deserted islands, and the plenty of DVDs to entertain. The adults also enjoyed the quiet evenings in front of the fire. Thanks for this great getaway from the city.

We had a great time ringing in the new year at the cottage! The rooms were wonderfully clean and the cottage was very cozy. It was very well maintained, had great sitting areas for playing board games and even stocked with movies to pass away quiet time! We bet it would be a great cottage in the summer, but it was the perfect get-away for us during the winter season!

We had a wonderful time filled with lots of adventure. We went for lots of paddle boat and canoe rides including one trip out to the island in the middle of the lake. On Saturday we witnessed the lighting at the celebration of Kirkfield Lift Lock's 100th Anniversary. We partook in all of the town's anniversary events and had our faces painted, including Mom. Other adventures included a trip to kinsmount to see RoToville. We also discovered a wonderful beach on Balsam lake> The water was wavy and the beach was clean and sandy. We packed a lunch and serveral bottles of Caesars and had fun all day. We bought Sun flowers from the woman at the end of the road, 25 Cents each and lots of ice cream and treats like blueberry pancakes, bacon sandwiches, ribs on the barbie, chicken ceaser and salmon. We enjoyed the Fire pit and had several nights down by the water. The kid ofcourse roasted marsh mallows. During the stay the kids painted rocks and had lots of laughs jumpig off the dock. We loved the serenity and the view of the water and throughly enjoyed all the amenities at the cottage. We leave with many many happy memories. Note: Thankfully we brought our vinyl plastic table cloth and slip covers for the furniture. For the sake of your furniture I would highly recommend providing these items.
